To obtain a Texas License to Carry the following must be completed:
- Submit an application to the State of Texas https://txapps.texas.gov/txapp/txdps/ltc/
- Pay the required fee to the State of Texas when submitting your application, $40 without special conditions
- Fingerprints and background check, $10 plus tax to be completed by Identogo (do not attempt this step without doing the State of Texas application and waiting 24-48 hours)
- Fingerprints need to be scheduled through Identogo
- You should receive an email (check junk box) with instructions to schedule with identogo
- If you do not receive an email contact us for assistance
- Attend a Texas LTC class
- Sign waiver and release of liability by clicking this link https://app.waiversign.com/doc/5be314e52382c625bb11211b?
- Pass LTC written exam with a score of 70%
- Demonstrate handgun proficiency with a semi or non-semi automatic handgun with a score of 70%
- Upload a completed LTC-100 form to the State of Texas https://www.dps.texas.gov/rsd/contact/ltcatt.aspx (do not attempt this step without doing the State of Texas application and waiting 24-48 hours)
AFTER all the above and any additional documents requested by The State of Texas have been submitted the clock starts for The State of Texas to issue your License To Carry, up to 60 Days.
